Pssst...

I'm so bummed that I missed "Speak" (the movie of Laurie Halse Anderson's book) on Lifetime the other night. We were out at a labor day dinner and a movie and I forgot to tape it. (Yes, I’m one of those luddite, TiVo-less types.)

The movie I DID see was "Junebug," which I loooooved. I now have a big ol' girl crush on Amy Adams, the woman who played the very loquacious and very pregnant Ashley. Hers is the best performance I've seen in ages! She's brilliant. I want someone to start her Oscar campaign now. If I had even one Hollywood connection, I would start a whispering campaign myself. But whispering from my little garret office in Atlanta? Somehow I don’t think it’s going to make much impact.

Although, I just realized that I’m now whispering on the world wide web, too! ANYBODY could see this. So hey, if you’re a Hollywood type, who has stumbled upon my blog en route to Variety.com or some such: Amy for Oscar!

I still want to see “Speak” though.
